Library Coronavirus Response

Winona Public Library will be closed, effective Tuesday, March 17.

Based on the latest information from the Minnesota Department of Health about mitigating the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), we have made the decision that closing our building is in the best interest of public safety at this time.

“We pride ourselves on providing the best customer service, and in these unprecedented and quickly changing times, that includes a collective response to limiting exposure to this highly contagious virus,” Lezlea Dahlke, Winona Public Library Director, said. “Being a community hub for all ages also makes us primed to become a center of infection. We feel a responsibility to keep our patrons safe by doing our part to help flatten the curve.”

We encourage patrons to use our website and online resources.

Wifi access points extend beyond our building; feel free to work curbside from Johnson St.

We will not be charging any late fines for materials that are due during the closure. Patrons are encouraged to keep materials that are due until we reopen. We are not accepting book donations at this time.

We will be reassessing often. Patrons are encouraged to check our website and social media for updates.
