Spoken Word Workshop

Tuesday, April 30th at 6 PM

Spoken Word is “performance art that is word-based and is a catchall term for any kind of poetry recited aloud, including poetry readings, poetry slams, jazz poetry, and hip hop, and can include comedy routines and prose monologues.”-Wikipedia.

Joe Davis, a Minneapolis based spoken word artist, will be on hand to explain the ins and outs of spoken word -- what it is, how it works, along with tips and tricks on sound projections. It’s the perfect workshop to get you ready for open mic nights at the Laureate Reading Series or Black Sheep Poetry events.

This event is free and open to the public; however, participants must register for the event.  To register, go to http://tinyurl.com/wplpoetrymonth. or call the Reference Desk at 507-452-4860.
