About INCLUDE
Through historical images and stories, the INCLUDE exhibit explores the history of disability rights in Minnesota and the ongoing movement toward independence and inclusion. The exhibit highlights the dramatic changes in opportunities and rights for people with disabilities, from a time in the early 1900s when individuals with disabilities were often excluded from public life and rarely documented, to today’s expanding access to education, employment, voting, and community engagement. Created by the Minnesota Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities, the INCLUDE Exhibit invites viewers to reflect on the progress that has been made and the work that continues to build a more inclusive society.
