Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the IRS and Minnesota Department of Revenue have extended the tax filing deadline to July 15, 2020.

The following Federal forms and instructions are available at the library: 1040. (The 1040A and 1040EZ are no longer used.)

Minnesota Income and Property Tax forms, as well as IRS Schedules, can be printed for $0.10/page.  The Minnesota Income and Property Tax instructions are available for a seven-day checkout.

Note:  The IRS does not allow our tax hub to order anything beyond the main 1040 form and instructions, and the State of Minnesota no longer reproduces print forms for tax hubs.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

Free tax assistance for low-moderate income individuals and families.  Appointments are discontinued until further notice. For a recorded message about the VITA site status please call: 507-474-7202. Please see the VITA handout for more information.

The IRS continues to urge taxpayers who haven't yet done a "Paycheck Checkup" to do one as soon as possible to see if they're having their employer withhold the right amount of tax after major changes in the tax law. The IRS Withholding Calculator can help taxpayers learn if they need to make changes soon to avoid an unwelcome surprise come tax time.
